If Albanians say Kosovo is theirs, where is their proof?

Kosovo has been a part of Serbia for a long time. It has been a province ever since Serbia was a country. Now, Albanians are going to Kosovo to ethnically cleanse the province illegally claiming the country independent. Now, in Albanians' defense, they say it's theirs. I have never seen proof it was so I want to see it right now.
