Why was i puking up blood?

I dont drink often or that much but last night at a party I def had wayy to much vodka to the point to where I needed to puke. I puked and then started to just chug water so I could feel better. I continued to puke up some more feeling better but I THINK I was puking up some blood enough to see that is was blood. I looked up alot about right now and is there any chance of an ulcer or something because Like i said I dont usually drink and it was red possible a vain in my throat or something? Thanks.
