Is my friend's definition of Limbo correct?

I'm not talking about the dance. I'm not talking about the game. I'm not talking about the "first circle of Hell". My friend told me that Limbo is when you die, but you separate from your body and you're still on Earth. Only that, people cant see, hear, smell or feel you (and taste too, but I think that goes without saying). Is he correct?
