Can I join any Buddhist temples in the UK? Is there a fee or can you go live there for free?

I'm disillusioned with the western world and no opportunities have opened up for me and I believe that the educational system is a method of extorting the youth, thus I have decided to join Buddhism. After familiarizing myself with the religion I would like to go live in a temple and meditate and pray all day. is there an option to do such a thing in the UK because I know these temples exist here but I don't know if they accept devotees, is it free to do it if it's possible or do you pay them as well, or do you have to go to Tibet/Nepal to do such a thing?
