Chaotes- help with sigil magick? What things am I supposed to forget?

I've done sigil workings a couple of times and i've tried to just forget everything about it but it doesn't ussually work that well. what's the minimum i have to forget for it to be effective? and any tips on forgetting? should I get drunk before i do it?
