What is a new beer I should try?

I am almost 21 and have always enjoyed drinking beer. But im getting sick of bud, pbr, bud light, corona and all those get drunk cheap beers. I dont really care to pound them down like everyone else to get drunk asap and like to sit and actually taste what i am consuming. Im noticing that the beers ive listed after a while having them are kinda tasting pissy and was wondering what i should try next? I like having fires with friends and just to sit, chill and relax and want to find some beers that taste good and have good qualities. idc about the cost either. I have heard sam adams is decent and Heineken?
